Privacy policy

JuicySticky is a local-first macOS app. Your notes stay on your Mac. We do not run accounts, cloud sync, or analytics in the app.

What we do not collect

• Note content, titles, or metadata (stored only on your device)
• Usage analytics or behavioral tracking
• Crash reports sent to our servers (we do not operate crash-reporting infrastructure)

What leaves your Mac

• License activation (Pro only): When you enter a license key, the app contacts the Lemon Squeezy License API to activate or validate your key. Lemon Squeezy’s privacy policy applies to that transaction.
• App updates: The built-in updater checks a public manifest URL (downloads.juicysticky.com) for new versions and downloads signed update packages when you choose to install.
• External links: If you click a link in a note, macOS opens it in your browser. That site’s policy applies.

Payments

Pro is sold through Lemon Squeezy, our payment provider and merchant of record. When you buy a license, Lemon Squeezy collects and processes your payment and billing details (for example, your email and the information needed to charge your card and handle tax). We never see or store your card number — we only receive your license key and the email tied to your order, so we can support you. Lemon Squeezy’s privacy policy governs that transaction.

Where your data lives

Notes are stored as markdown files under ~/Library/Application Support/com.glendonchin.juicysticky/. License keys are stored in the macOS Keychain. You can back up or delete this folder at any time.

Website

This marketing site is a static page. We do not use third-party analytics on juicysticky.com. Hosting (e.g. Cloudflare Pages) may log standard request metadata as part of normal CDN operation.

Your data rights

Your notes never reach our servers, so there is nothing on our end to export, correct, or delete — you hold the only copy, in the folder above, and you can back it up or remove it yourself at any time. This holds wherever you live, including the EU and UK under the GDPR and California under the CCPA. For the limited data tied to a purchase (your order and license key), email us or Lemon Squeezy and we will help you access or delete it.

Children

JuicySticky is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone — children included.
